Application Requirements
In addition to your submitted application, the following materials are required:
- Proof of high school completion
- Official transcripts sent directly from all institutions previously attended. If you have completed college credit at a non-U.S. institution, you must have those credentials evaluated by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), such as SpanTran, ECE, GLOBE, or WES.
- A nonrefundable orientation fee (waived for U.S. veterans, active military, and their spouses and dependents)
Program Specific Requirements
In addition to the above requirements, applicants applying to the following programs must meet additional admissions requirements.
B.S. Early Childhood Education
- Associate degree or 60 completed credits
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 (recalculation of up to the last 60 credits earned)
- Essay: In about 500 words, please explain why you chose to apply to the early childhood education program at SUNY Empire State University and describe what you see as your professional responsibility to young children.
- Letter of Recommendation (optional, strongly recommended)
Combined and dual Bachelors/Master's Programs
- Minimum 3.2 GPA (recalculation of up to the last 60 credits earned); and
- Transferring no more than 92 credits at the time of application; or
- Applicants who have already completed a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply to the Dual Degree BS Accounting/ MBA Business Management or MAT pathways. Please see the combined pathway pages for more details.

Returning Students
We are excited you have decided to return to Empire State University. Students who have been withdrawn from the University for more than 3 years will need to submit a new application. If you’ve taken a short break, chances are your student account is still active. Log into MySUNYEmpire to see if your account is still active. Nondegree (non-matriculated) Students
Looking to take a course or two for career development, personal enrichment, or earn credit toward a degree at another college or university? Apply now to be a nondegree student.
Immunization Requirement
State law dictates that students enrolling in 6 or more credits provide proof of immunization including immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, and meningitis.
