The Department of Child and Family Studies
The Department of Child and Family Studies educates students to work with children, and families across the lifespan. Our curriculum emphasizes a systems approach to understanding the dynamics of diverse families across various social, political, cultural, and economic contexts. We prepare students for careers in public and private spheres that focus on improving the lives of children, youth, and families. This includes working with vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and people with disabilities. We educate students to be change agents and disruptors of social injustices and inequities.
